Our Providers
Melissa Foner, PA-C, NCC
Melissa Foner is a certified Physician Assistant and National Certified Counselor with experience in family medicine, behavioral health and obesity medicine.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and completed her first Masters in Counseling at the University of Memphis. She returned to graduate school in 2013 to complete her second Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Christian Brothers University. Melissa believes in partnering with patients as they address their varied health needs - whether a seasonal virus or a chronic illness. She sees her role as a primary care provider in addressing immediate health needs, coordinating care with specialists and guiding patients' preventive care. Her interests also focus on behavioral health and believes that the primary care provider has a duty to screen, treat and/or refer for mental health needs. She also views obesity as a primary care issue and participates in PAs in Obesity Medicine pact which is a national interest group focused on pharmacological and behavior treatment for obesity. A lifelong Memphian, Melissa founded Care Memphis Clinic so that she could practice family medicine in a community she loves and she remains grateful to her patients who trust her with their healthcare. She feels fortunate to work with Dr. Kansagra and Dr. Ball as her supervising physicians and with her colleagues and professional staff who understand competence and compassion as two necessary ingredients in medicine.
Robert H. Ball, Supervising MD
Dr. Robert Ball is a family medicine physician and a graduate of University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Ball has over 35 years experience in family and occupational medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, 1978 to present and past President of Memphis-Shelby County Academy of Family Practice (Local Chapter). Dr. Ball's interests include adult family medicine, occupational medicine and injury medicine. Also a lifelong Memphian, he enjoys spending time with his wife, four children and grandson.
Kavita Kansagra, Supervising MD, MHA

Dr. Kavita Kansagra is a family practice physician with over 10 years of experience in family medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, she left her hometown of Tustin, California to pursue her medical degree overseas. Following completion of her medical studies at Silesia University in Poland, she went on to complete her family medicine residency at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania.  During Dr. Kansagra’s 10 years’ experience, she has developed a keen interest in all aspects of family medicine. Whether it is the urgent medical issues that arise at a moments notice to treating lifelong patients and their families, Dr. Kansagra continues to serve her community. As part of her service, Dr. Kansagra is also the medical director for the clinic at Rhodes College.
In addition to her active interests in family medicine, she has pursued further career goals by going back to school at the University of Southern California to obtain a Masters in Health Administration degree. With this added qualification, she has taken the additional responsibility to administer and develop medical practices in the community.
Dr. Kansagra enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She is very excited to be a part of Care Memphis, LLC and is proud to work with such a fantastic team of practitioners.
